Detective Conan

Today, my friend Niki from the Japanese school and I decided to reveal the true Asian-ness of ourselves and to let our adoration for this Japanese anime out to the extreme...

Aieaieaieaieaieaieaieaie! SOOO MANY CONANSSSSS! Yikes.

名探偵コナン (Detective Conan/Case Closed): Shinich Kudo, a 17-year-old high school prodigy and detective who frequently worked with the police, was attacked by two members of a mysterious crime syndicate while investigating a case regarding blackmail. He was then forced to take a newly developed experimental poison that was supposed to kill him, but due to a rase side-effect unknown to the two men, the drug transformed his body back into that of his seven-year-old self instead., after they left him for dead. In order to hide his identity and to investigate the whereabouts of the syndicate, which he later finds out to be called the Black Organization, he adopts the pseudonym Conan Edogawa. To search for leads of the syndicate, he manages to move in with his childhood friend Ran Mori, and her father Kogoro Mori, who works as a private investigator. Conan also enrolls at a Teitan elementary school and forms the Junior Detective League with three other children in his class: Ami, Mitsuhiko, and Genta. Even as Conan, Shinich continues solving criminal cases, usually posing as Kogoro Mori with the help of special gadgets, invented by his neighboor and friend, Dr. Agase. Kogoro Mori, a rather inept detective, is bewildered at the sudden rise in his case-solving abilities, but does not question this as he's more than glad about his subsequent rise in fame. Later in the series, another main character, Ai Haizaki, appears. A former member of the Black Organization, codenamed "Sherry," she is actually a woman named Shiho Miyano, a gifted chemist who developed the poison APTX 4869 which turned Shinich back into a child. After her sister was brutally murdered by members of the Black Organization, she tried to get out and was held captive; she then attempted to commit suicide by taking a dose of the poison, but instead was transformed into a child as well, and managed to escape from them. She then enrolled in Conan's school under the pseudonym. She knows Conan's true identity and helps him in his quest to bring down the Black Organization.

There are 13 feature films based on the Case Closed series! We watched 4 of them today... Oy.

To complete our Asian day, I decided to borrow a lot, and by this, I mean A LOT of manga's and Japanese music CD's!

Thanks again, Niki!

Hey, Soul Sister

I was so lucky to find these earrings for mere $2.50! (Urban was having its extra 50% off of sales price deal). These are definitely one of my favorite jewelries... because everyone loves it when it's French.

Everything Fashionable

I went to Punch Pizza for lunch today with one of my awesome friends, Gretchen. I used this coupon in the middle to get $3 dollars off of my Margarita (with sausage) pizza! Good deals.

One of the best things about the Punch pizzas is that they come with these amazingly large bubbles. My friends and I once had a bet on who'll get the pizza with the largest bubble; I lost. OM NOM NOM OMOMOMOM NOM NOM.

I feel as if this post is turning into a "My Favorite OM NOMs" post. I had a bad luck with the cookie today (I got the one with only a few chocolate chips...), but our high school lunch ladies make one of the best chocolate chip cookies ever!!! The girl on the right (Rachel) and I, after we eat our unbearably nauseating school food, are often rescued by the delectable grace of these cookies. Om nom nom!

Inspiration comes in many forms. Today, I found mine through...

2. The Pose Tells It All: Do This Instead Of Saying A Goodbye ~ a random Asian kid found on the hallway

3. Letting My Clothes Look Prettier Than My Face For Once ~ Emily

Late Afternoon Eden Prairie

Today was fairly cold and windy compared to the past couple days. During the last Saturday through yesterday, the weather had been at high 60 degrees with no cloud! Yes, miracle like that does happen in mid March Minnesota. Hurray.

My little sister's room has the prettiest lighting in comparison to the rest of the house. I've been quite jealous of this fact ever since we moved in. Speaking of her room, I'm also confused as to why she has a bett twice the size of mine when she's clearly younger than I am and thus requiring less space than I do...
But, in all truth, this is a lie. We are actually just two years apart in age, and she's probably about only an inch shorter than I am.

Striped shirt + a pair of geek glasses is a must!

And finally, the whole outfit :)

The Dunn Bros

There's always that one place in your life that you couldn't dare to live without. Let it be your house, a beach, that nice, quite park with fabulous views, or even a shopping mall.... for me, it's a coffee shop.

Be hold! The Dunn Brothers Coffee Shop. It is not just a regular coffee shop, for that it's actually located inside of a house that is more than 100 years old, called the Smith Douglas More House.

My friends and I basically live in this place.... almost literally. At least one of us can be found within the 10 meters radius of this house from around 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm, seven days a week :)

I just got this adorable watch necklace in the mail yesterday (ordered on Etsy). I absolutely love it! The best part is that the watch actually works... impressive, huh? I've been obsessed with the watch accessories, so this is a great addition to my collection!

I'll also introduce some of my friends who were there at the Dunn Bros today:

The girl on the right also has a blog! Check it out: http://www.breadsandthreads.com/

The girl on the left and I are planning on going on a trip to China together this summer! Thus, the creation of this epic power point presentation in attempt to convince our parents to get comfortable with the idea... Hopefully we'll get their approval, so that this blog will have more potential in becoming interesting and worthy of my time & effort. When that happens, we will be updating on our trip on this blog page since China recently banned Facebook!
